Racy Pup

Puppy Linux Wary/Racy Packages

Utility

EasyDD_v.3-i686.pet
From the name, the purpose of this package might not be apparent. Turns out it's very useful. Copies a Puppy .img to a USB Drive and makes it bootable. More information available on the forum. View screenshot
lockstate-1.1-x86_32.pet
'LockState'. Is a tray-based indicator for the more modern keyboards that lack indicator lights to show the state of your 'lock' keys; CapsLock, ScrollLock, NumLock. Fully configurable, and works better in Pup than many of the more established alternatives. Recommended. View screenshot
packit-1.18.pet
Unlike UExtract, PackIt is not intended to be an ultimate (i.e. millions of supported formats) tool. It's designed to be simple yet flexible. Like UExtract, PackIt is packaged as a ROX right-click app and this is the easier way to use it (right-click or drag'n'drop), however menu entry is also available. View screenshot
Pet_Maker-2.3.pet
From the forum thread, 'This will suit Pet & SFS Making Beginners, not for advanced ones MAKE YOUR OWN PET & SFS PACKAGE DIRECTLY FROM YOUR FILES Pet packages are not only for apps but also can be used for files you want to share with others.'

sfs2pet-1.2.pet
Converts an SFS file into a PET file. Adds the option to the right-click menu with resulting PET being deposited in ~/my-pets
Steg-1.0.0.3-i686.pet
Hide, or send, sensitive data in plain sight...with Steg! Steg hides encrypted messages within a an image. Requires the dependency Glibc-2.20.pet. Much more information is available on the forum. View screenshot
swappiness.pet
Swapiness dials down the tendency to use the swap partition from the default of 60 to around 10, and means that Pup makes better use of your RAM. Very useful.
TrayControl_v1.0-i686.pet
MW had nothing better to do one day and thought he would give the bone idle a helping hand. He creates 'TrayControl', an app that puts a CD eject button in the tray. Unfortunately, laptop user will still need to close the CD tray manually. View screenshot
uextract-3.39.pet
In order to ease unpacking of various archive formats, SFR forged One Script to Rule Them All. Well, at least most of them. It's packaged as a ROX right-click app: 'right-click -> Open With -> UExtract'. BTW, each archive will be always extracted to a separate subdirectory. Forum post.
untar_pet.pet
A very handy utility that adds an option to the right-click menu and extracts a package into a folder containing the extracted package. Invaluable for examining the contents of packages. View screenshot
